SEPAC Business Meeting – April 11th, 2023
Call to Order
Introductions: Alison Elmer, Kristen Burke, Joyce Schlenger, Amy Forsythe, Jason Choi, Junko Nagano, Kate, Inae Hwang, Sarah Barton, and Jessica Dombrosky attended.

Officer/Committee Reports:
- Tonight we have the Basic Rights Transition workshop with FCSN. We will put the registration link in the chat.
- On May 9th we will hold a business meeting which will involve nominations for SEPAC officers for next year.
- On May 11th we will be presenting the results of our SEPAC survey to the school Committee
- On May 16th we are having an evening workshop with Dr. Crahan from Tufts, on the importance of sexuality and relationship education being inclusive for neurodivergent student populations.
- We are going to contribute a statement toward the sex education presentation to the School Committee later today, and have our officers sign it.
Planning Workshops for the Coming Year:

APS Staff Reports:
- The School Committee approved the District’s 5 year plan, with special initiatives outlined where Special Education and MTSS are identified as a focus.
- We have a number of hiring committees meeting, to fill administrative positions (Bishop principal, Brackett principal to replace Mrs. Z after almost 50 years of service, the Director of SEL, Director of Data and Accountability) Many of these positions are being added to support the strategic initiatives.

Announcements:
- We are hosting our Basic Rights Transition Workshop tonight with the Federation for Children with Special Needs. Registration is required.
- Our next meeting is on May 9th at 7:30pm on Zoom.
